There are holes used for the housing of the beams of the scaffolding, which, having to withstand heavy loads, were often embedded in the wall throughout its thickness. When the building was finished, the scaffoldings were dismantled, but it was possible to remount the wooden racks for subsequent maintenance because the scaffolding holes were kept open. The through-holes such as those existing in Masio, also due to the presence of plaster on the inner side of the wall, however, are anything but common.
