The representation, made during one of the many arguments broke out in the modern age as a result of alleged violations of the customs which regulated the transit of goods along the road connecting the lower Monferrato away with the Genoese, shows, in the upper left, an interesting depiction of Masio. It describes in schematic, but likely manner, the village after 1229, a date that can be taken as indicative of the beginning of works for the tower, reliably shown isolated in the foreground, facing East (in left side of the picture). At the opposite end of the village, after the church which emerges in the foreground, the castle is depicted as a building with small towers.

The village of Masio, represented as it appears from the extreme outskirts of Quattordio, is represented in forms altogether coherent with the pictures of similar age. On the left we can see the tower; in a central position, with the North side facing the point of observation, it is possible to identify the parish church with its bell tower. Curiously, all traces of the castle are lacking, perhaps hidden by the buildings of the Western sector of the village. The most interesting aspect, however, is the careful and detailed graphic description of the Tanaro, crowded with floating mills, sketched in a plausible way in the mooring details too, and characterized by the presence of the ferry.
